5Throtle Response and Even idle on the Back end
By EclipseGTV6
Expectations and Outcomes:When I bought this K&N I knew my stock air filter was clogged. (it was the cheap paper one) I wanted to get a K&N filter, but I realized I should just get a CAI because I wanted a better running engine. The tone of the exhaust is deeper. I wouldn't say it's much louder, but it is more smooth, and it makes and even tone on the back end. It idle is better even though I'm aware I need to change the spark plugs. There's also a sweet suction noise the CAI makes when you accelerate and rev it on neutral. The CAI came with a drycharger, and that's awesome, it protects it from water and mud damage. (of course does not prevent it).Easy change from Long to Short Ram:Another thing that is awesome is the fact of how easy it is to covert it from a Long Ram to a Short Ram. A long ram allows the CAI to grab colder air, but it also brings it really near to the ground, where water and mud may get into it. So when it's raining, you can easily untighten the whose clamps and pull the extra down pointing out and take off the air filter from that end and place it in the engine you can keep the drycharger on when you put it higher in (recommended), but you can also take it off, there really isn't much moisture up in the engine bay, and if there is...your filter is the last thing you're worried about.
