Product Description
The Lord of the Rings Museum Collection is a limited edition treasury of high quality, fully functional, movie prop reproductions from United Cutlery, makers of high quality adult collectibles. Each piece is finished and distressed to precisely match the used and worn look of the actual movie prop, to properly convey the rich history the movie producers intended. Each piece is individually hand-distressed, making no two alike. The tempered, full tang blades are forged from high carbon Toledo spring steel, made in Spain. The hilts are crafted utilizing precious metals, high quality woods, and top grain leathers. Each piece is a one-of-a-kind heirloom quality collectible.
An ancient sword carried by Gandalf the Grey, who is an old, but powerful wizard and friend to Frodo Baggins. Glamdring, a magical sword, serves Gandalf in his mission to aid the Fellowship of the Ring. It was made by ancient Elves, and is inscribed with runes in the Elven language that say "Turgon Aran Gondolin, Tortha gar a matha Glamdring, Vegil Glamdring gud daelo, Dam an Glamhoth" which translates to "Turgon, King of Gondolin, wields, has and holds the sword Glamdring, Foe of Morgoth's realm, Hammer of the Orcs".
The Museum Collection Glamdring is a must have for the serious collector. Handcrafted in Spain, the sword features a solid metal guard and pommel, plated in genuine silver with a weathered and distressed finish to match the actual movie prop. The sword is also adorned with genuine sapphire jewels and leather-wrapped grip. The Museum Collection Glamdring is an exclusive Limited Edition - only 1,000 individually serialized pieces to be issued worldwide.

Not a Toy!
By Wulfstan
Well, sometimes the old wolf gets luckyOne of my old friends and I are big LotR fans. A few Christmases ago, we exchanged copies of the "prop" grade swords from that wonderful film.Somewhere along the line, he got one of these great "Museum Collection" grade Glamdring swords. Now his new child is a toddler and the wife said "That has to go!", so it came to me. Score!I have hefted, swung and owned the "prop" grade swords in this collection. They are actually quite well and solidly made. Altho hardly serious weapons, they are great wallhangers and they look darn nice. As a weapon, I suppose they'd give a burglar a rather nasty surprise. But I wouldn't want to take on a Balrog with one!At first glance this Museum Collection version looks like the "regular" Glamdring. But it's a higher grade steel, very sharp, with real jewels and silver. It also hand finished. Wow! This is not a toy or a prop.Worth $1200? Probably not. But here it sells for under $400.This is the perfect gift for a discriminating LotR fan.But it is NOT a toy.

Part of Movie History
By Sojourner
This is the second museum collection sword made by United Cutlery and currently being sold by Redford Films that I have purchased. The First one was Sting serial number 2790/3000, and now Glamdring serial number 0746/1000. Both of these swords are beautifully made. These swords are part of the history of the movie "Lord of The Rings" and when they are gone all that will be left will be normal runs of these swords by various manufacturers coming from various points of origin. I couldn't pass up the chance to own both of these really fine collectable swords. Both are very well made and when I swung Glamdring one thing I quickly realized is the effort you would need to be able to fight with one. Lol if you think boxing makes you tired try swinging one of these in real life as if your life depended on it. Even really makes me appreciate what the actors went through useing them in fight scenes. Anyway for those of you fortunate to own one or both of these swords I just wanted to put in a short word of upkeep for the blades. After handling them wipe them down with a silicone treated cloth to remove fingerprints and keep them from rusting. Enjoy!
