Incredible intake

This is a great product and is the best money I have spent on my Celica GTS. At normal driving the car is more responsive and uses less fuel and above 6000rpm starts to really make a fantastic noise that makes it sound powerful which most modern cars lack incuding the Celica. The car drives better under all conditions making it a great product as it revs quicker and easier and when it comes to passing it delvelops more power making overtaking faster and a lot more fun. Clear intructions and quality construction with a 75 minute install for me. Looks nice in engine bay with intake tube matching the engine bay and looking like a factory part.

Easy to install

The filter was was very easy to install, with very detailed, step-by-step directions. I drive a stock Corolla, so I don't expect any crazy horsepower gains. I do, however, notice that it does seem to have a little more power on take-off, the engine idles much more smoothly, and my idle rate dropped from about 1,100RPM to 600RPM.Pros:slight increase in responsiveness,very easy to install,looks goodCons:when the engine is cold, at idle, you will hear a loud "sucking" sound. I was not aware, but apparently this is normal for this type of intake and vehicle.

It does work

This was installed on a 2008 Pontiac Vibe. Everything fits except that on this year the engine uses a port on the intake hose for a PCV hose. I had to fabricate a hose fitting and attach to Typhoon intake. K&N does not list this intake for this year vehicle, but the right person can make the extra part. Otherwise the intake fits perfectly and the engine seems to have a little more power. Engine feels a little smoother down the interstate and I think mileage might be up. The intake is loud once you press the accelerator all the way down, but if you want performance that is usually what comes from upgrades. K&N has many pictures included with instructions for install. Overall happy with install and purchase

Does it's job

I bought this for my commuter car. Install was easy but the pictures don't help very much! Had to work out where to put a couple hoses on my own. I guess that's what I get for putting an American product on a Japanning car.

Easy install, instant change!

The first thing I noticed after putting this in was the instant, ferocious growl. Plus a little more of the in-your-seat power we all crave. Obviously, with all this fun power comes a little cost to your gas mileage, but it can be recovered with some careful driving.

Huge difference!

I installed this on an 03 Lancer non turbo'd 2.0 ltr engine and right away you noticed the throttle response it didnt think of having before. The pick from the respones at full throttle was a huhe gain. I have used K&N products for 15 yrs and sometime you could notice a difference and other times not so much. But this ram air intake added response & HP.I recently installed a VOLO Performance chip and that had big gain as well. For an engine that stock had like 125 hp i have gained 35-40 and want to install a whole new exhaust system, from a header to high flow cat & cat back system to gain all i can out of this car.Definately recommend for performance and for looks, K&N has always made great products in my mind.

Typhoon Air Intake

The delivery and product was good but just a note if anyone is getting this to fit a Lancer 2.0 sport 2006 to 2007 model. The polished pipe can not be fitted as it places the cone filter where there is a radiator hose from the engine. Due to this I have fitted the filter to the factory rubber hose only. The filter does work ok and Im sure there is an increase in performance but obviously wasted my time with metal pipe. I will be eventually cutting down the metal pipe to fit and will try it. A bit dissapointed but still happy enough.

Excellent First Performance Mod

Excellent product! Installation took about an hour altogether. Extra horsepower is noticeable and it makes an amazing sound above 3k RPM. Highly recommended for those who can't afford to turbo yet!

Does the job!

This is a great product, works well, and looks great. There are different colors, and I chose blue. Came fast, and was easy to install. It actually makes the engine sound louder, and more deep around 3500-4000 rpms. Good purchase, ecspecially for the price offered on Amazon!

Perfect Fit, Wonderful Product

Assembly was complicated at first, but it only took around 25 min. The results were amazing. Aside from the louder sound (A plus in my book) I had definite horsepower gains and improved gas mileage. The biggest difference was with the accelerator response. I gained an average of 4 MPG. That's right 4MPG. Ex - when I first installed, I floored it everywhere because it sounded good. I actually got 1 mpg more with the throttle open all the way with this air intake. (1mpg more compared to my normal (slowly accelerating)driving)

this K&N product is great!, the only thing is it claims it ads 15 extra horse but only above 4100 rpm and a lancer is not above that for long while shifting, all and all its a great product and i have no regret buying

As soon as i opened the box i was in awe. First of all it just looks soo sick and second it just sounds soo mean after you install it. Plus you can feel the power right away at higher rpms. As soon as you hit 3000 rpms you can hear it roar and at 5500 the car just pulls which it never did before and at that rpm it is very loud! Took about an hour to install it by myself and comes with easy to follow instructions.

All my vechicles have k&n cold air kits. Just the fact you don't buy air filters is worth the cost of the system plus the fact you get extra HP is a bonus. The system was easy to installed and you could feel the different right away.

2002 Ford zx2

I installed this item in my 2002 Ford ZX2 with 90,000 miles on it. Instructions were hard to see but K&N website has them in color so easier to follow on there. Took a few hours to install. I intalled the air system and switched to a full synethic oil at the same time and saw around a 5-6 MPG increase. Not sure which helped more. It sounds really cool and seems to give it a little more power.
