Good Shock

Hello there, i bought this shock to replace a 20 year old shock in my 1993 Civic 3DR hatch, European model LSI, but it works in US models too.So far i am very happy, it made my machine ride smooth, and i am talking about bumpy stone roads in Africa, with holes that can fit a whole tire. Amazon has some great prices, in my country they cost about 800 dollars for a complete set of 4.

The strut fit with no issues.We use our 4x4 off road, and the shock rates work very well with my 1" lift and oversize tires, yet the ride is comfortable in town.

YOU gotta see it to believe it !!

KYB makes high quality products ,, this is a home run! Quality is exceptional!Excellent!!However -- the famous However --Needs to be used with KYB spring insulator , KYB or Moog springs!YOU will also need a bellows for the strut rod.The spring insulator must be KYB ,,you can use others but the warranty will not be valid.The quality is on a OEM par with high end manufacturers such as Mercedes,, Saab, Acura, Chrysler, Lincoln.More expensive ,,yes, but good for life of the car!Chrysler makes poor front ends, this is the cure! $$ yes,, but has to be done right!You need the help of a pro to put this on right,,correctly.The spring position , the spring support(rubber insulator) the upper mount have to be aligned up perfectly and the top show in the picture has to have the notch perfectly placed! Spring compressor is needed and an experienced strut installer as this is tricky!Vendor ships good ,, packaging is not their strong point check all parts upon delivery!Summation: The top shown is 2 parts . Also needed ,,, is a separate top spring insulator, goes between the spring and this shown top-strut mount , springs ,, bellows,, strut, and strut bottom spring insulator !Suggestion all KYB parts as the quality is needed ,,there!Get a PRO to help, Monroe in some locations will assemble for a fee(worth every cent!) so can others . Get a Chrysler manual check the mounting sequence and shown top mount marker position!! A must !!Before installing !

Not to OEM specs

The manufacturing is not within the tolerances of the OEM unit. There is a half moon opening where the strut rod fits through. This allows the strut shaft nut to be tightened. The opening on this unit is too large, so the shaft spins, not allowing the nut to be properly tightened. It happened on both the left and right side. 97 Maxima. I'm not a happy camper....

Brought a nice feel back to my old Camaro. Are a bit stiff to start but settling down now. If your going to change shocks and struts, use good stuff. Stay away from cheap shocks.

Good shock misleading ride height

I installed this product on a 99 trans am with a sts turbo kit. The only problem is that the shock lowers your car by about an inch which with a sts kit can be bad. The turbo kit is a rear mount and is already close to the ground. My car scrapes both in and out of my driveway. On a better note the car handles very well and the shocks are worth the price.
