Bam, This Thing is Hot

Excellent product. I installed this coil along with an MSD-6A, as an upgrade of the GM dual-connector HEI coil, on my 1989 Chevrolet K1500. This coil hits hard!Be careful when installing. Have cotton rags/fire extinguisher ready, and... Most importantly (moreso than with the stock HEI coil)... Make sure that your engine is at TDC when aligning your distributor at initial setup. I had removed my distributor to change an oil pressure sensor at the same time as this upgrade. I had the distributor off by 180-degrees, and I set the fuel injectors on fire, but they did NOT extinguish themselves with additional turning the engine over, as with the stock coil (happened before and easily extinguished - stock)...This coil is hot! Just what has been missing from the stock HEI setup.The coil that I received was painted black, had a "sticker" that read Accel, and had a push-in connector (included). But who cares. This is the real deal. You simply cannot ask for a better coil to squeeze the most out of every combustion cycle.

ACCELL bought Jacobs...so it's essentially the same coil as the Jacobs just has different type connecting terminals and now comes in a black anodized housing instead of bright blue, which is nice and unobtrusive, The label pulls off easily for further incognito.I run it with a MSD-6A, it works great and from now on will be my std replacement coil instead of the Supercoil. I get better mileage/performance out of my 3/4ton dodge 360 now, but not sure how much, since I installed the MSD and K&N filtercharger at the same time.Space consideration - it's less than half the size (height) of their big yellow supercoil, but still about the size of an average coffee mug.IMPORTANT MOUNTING NOTE: DO NOT MOUNT IT terminals UP (vertically!)UNLIKE THE BLUE JACOBS COIL PICTURED, The plug connections are in a slightly recessed well and not at all water resistant, mount it so that none can accumulate if you run through a big puddle or WASH YOUR ENGINE COMPARTMENT... Once the water creates a short, your engine dies instantly, and looking for water shorting the coil power terminals UNDER a plug is not something obvious to most.
