This shoe is great for workouts. The only problem is the velcro. There isn't enough to wrap around the ankle for support, just like all other shoes. I've had this problem for years. I have big feet but small ankles. I would think someone would come up with a better solution by now. I had to improvise and cut a strip of velcro for each shoe to make an extension to get the right fit I needed. I get tired of doing this with every shoe brand. The part that gets me the most is that shoes with laces for people with big feet are much longer than necessary. I would always have to cut them to the size where I won't trip when I walk. I mention this because I bought laced shoes from Propet as well and, just like everyone else, they seem to believe that the longer the shoe, the longer the laces, when in fact is not proportional. I wish someone would take the time and count up the eyelets on the shoe and compare them to smaller shoes. Then maybe they can see that there is no difference.

Okay it was time to get some new shoes so I decided to get them thru my favorite store, you guessed it Amazon. I looked the pair I had and saw what size and ordered the same size again. It was actually the second pair I ordered but the first was too small so I had returned them without wearing them. Then I ordered a second pair and they turned out to be way too big. I decided to wear them and see if they were going to work or not. I have one foot larger than the other and with too small it is easy to tell, but too big needed a bit of a test. I went out for the evening, probably gone a total of 2 to 3 hours. Of course I wore the shoes. It was obvious to me that they were too big. What is it with shoe sizing anyway, why is there no standard that people can count on. Anyway I decided to send them back. I naturally assumed (ass u me) that the company guaranteed my satisfaction and I wasn't satified. Well not so, they refused the return and sent them back to me. So now I am stuck with a pair of shoes I can not wear and out the money. So I say what is the point of buying shoes online, you need to try them on or at least find a company that cares enough to give you a shot at it. Heck we bought a $2000 mattress once and they even had a 90 day return guarantee. So Goodwill get's the shoes which is good for some big footed person in need some help and I get the box. No biggie, this company will never see my money again. But then they probably could care less. And oh yea read the warrenty before you buy.

I bought a pair of these in April 2011. As of November 2011 they are no longer usable for me. So they lasted me a total of 7 months.If you go through your daily walking shoes once to twice per year, then don't bother reading the rest of this review; buy these. They are very comfortable and provide fantastic support for your feet.If, however, you keep your daily walking shoes for longer than 6 months, then please read on.First of all, let me expand on the good points:-- I have never owned a pair of shoes that felt better on the feet. I work downtown and do a fair amount of walking every day. I usually put these on when I am headed to lunch or coming into (or leaving) work every weekday.-- I have never had any foot aches or other issues with soreness as long as I have worn these. I hadn't been so lucky with any other shoes before this pair, so this was heaven-sent. That is, until...Now onto the reason I couldn't wear them after only 7 months of use: VELCRO. Each shoe has a single strap on it that goes in through a hole one side and comes back around to fasten at the end via Velcro. After prolonged usage, the fluffy/soft side of the Velcro area starts giving away and the strap begins to lose its grip.This became very annoying. Slowly, over time, as I'd be walking, the straps would come off (you would hear the signature Velcro ripping sound) and then your shoe would become incredibly loose and uncomfortable. Then eventually, as I neared the 7-month mark, the Velcro would disengage on both shoes as soon as I put them on and stood up. At this point I decided to be done with them and bough a new pair.Two things about my experience:1) I contacted Propet's customer support. They said their warranty is for 6-months or 1000 miles (how the heck do they gauge the latter?!), whichever comes first. And it only covers the sole of the shoe, not the strap or any other part. Wonderful. They told me I could "send in a picture of the shoe and file a claim" if I wanted to. Needless to say, I didn't bother. Plus, I didn't really want another pair of the same shoe. The issue is in its design, not some sort of quality measure that was overlooked in just my pair.2) The shoe itself was VERY nice and comfortable. That's why to replace it, I did buy another Propet shoe model (Propet Men's M3851). This one is a slip-on and does not have laces or velcro. So I am hoping it lasts longer. I will review it at the 6-7 month mark just to be sure though.So in other words, if you can spend a little more, get some other pair of walking shoes. I do recommend the Propet brand in itself (they specialize in walking shoes after all) and their other models. Get a model that either has laces or is a slip-on.And if you don't want to spend more, then I am guessing you don't want shoes you'll have to replace in 6 months' time either. In that case, avoid these!
