My vehicle had a "check engine" light and the codes indicated this was the failed part. Well, the check valve was what actually failed, but it allowed moisture to enter, and collect in the pump. The light may have signaled the light, but both parts needed replacing. If you get the same code, replace the pump and the check valve. I was pleased with every part of this order. This was not a cheap immitation part.

My wife's 2005 GMC Envoy SLT had the dreaded SES Code P0410, which indicates a problem in the secondary air injection system. After much research, I determined that the air injection pump was faulty, most likely due to a faulty air check valve. Despite what the description says, the ACDelco 215-454 is an air injection pump, NOT a fuel pump. On a 2005 GMC Envoy SLT this part can be found on the frame rail on the drivers side directly under the drivers seat. When I replaced this part, I decided to go ahead and replace the air injection pump relay at the same time. I ordered ACDelco 212-559 Air Injection Pump Relay Assembly. Please note that Amazon's "Find Parts that fit your vehicle" will say that this relay does not fit a 2005 GMC Envoy SLT but it fits just fine. I've had no problems whatsoever with either the air pump nor the relay. Through my research and talking to people much more knowledgeable than myself, I thought that it would be a good idea to also replace the air check valve and gasket since it was likely the faulty check valve that was causing the air pump to fail, and tripping the SES code. So, I ordered ACDelco 214-2222 Air Check Valve and ACDelco 219-351 Gasket. Please note that the check valve is found under the hood on the left side of the motor (when facing the motor). The transmission dipstick is attached to the check valve, so you have to remove the bolt securing the transmission dipstick from the check valve first and then you can unbolt the check valve. It's a very easy fix. After replacing the air pump, relay, check valve, and check valve gasket, the SES light went off and the car has been running much better. As always, Amazon had some of the best prices and certainly the best service.

Well ... I found out the hard way that Amazon is not telling the truth in the advertising of this item. It says ....12 months or 12,000 warranty, but Amazon will not take it back. It failed in 90 days. Called ACDelco at 1-800-ACDelco and found out that Amazon is NOT an authorized reseller of ACDelco parts. Therefore the ACDelco warranty is not valid, which is what Amazon advertises on this item. I rolled the dice to save some bucks but came up snake-eyes. I'll never again purchase items through Amazon, unless they are an authorized reseller with manufacturer.
