- Replace coolant with a mixture of antifreeze and water according to the vehicle manufacturer's recommendations
- Inspect engine belts for cracks or missing sections; check belt tension
- Evaluate radiator and radiator cap for leaks, corrosion, worn cap gasket
- Examine hoses every 12 months. Look for leaks, cracks or rot. Replace when showing signs of wear.
- Tighten any loose clamps. Replace clamps when replacing hoses
- Have cooling system inspected immediately if instrument panel-mounted temperature gauge indicates engine overheating.
- Periodically, remove bugs, leaves and other debris from the front of the radiator. They can block airflow and substantially reduce cooling efficiency.

I received the radiator in good shape. It was boxed very well. Once out of the box I could see I was going to have a problem. My old radiator was about 1" thick. The new one was about 1 3/8" thick. You have to remove the old brackets from the old radiator and I knew I was in for some modifications to the old brackets. Mind you this is an AC Delco OEM radiator but somewhere along the line they redesigned it. The bracket modifications were not to bad so it was a fairly easy fix. This was installed on a 1996 Buick Riviera and was an OEM replacement. You can not find the correct brackets for it because they have been discontinued. Once the mods were made the installation was pretty easy. The radiator fit perfect. I wish the would ship these with the fan brackets but they do not. The brackets I am refering to hold the electric fans in place so you have to have them on there in order to mount them. The radiator fit was very good so no problems there. I would buy this part again. I Recommend this part
