replacement after 10 years
By Jon Norstog
10 years ago I put GR2s all around in my wife's new used VW Golf. I ended up with the car, which has 240K miles now, a lot of it over forest service roads and even some cross country. One of the rear units started leaking so I bought a pair and replaced them. The leaking unit still had good damping but would have gone south soon enough. Tis is the only time I have ever had a failure in a KYB shock or strut. My only beef with the GR2 is they duplicate stock damping. If you want more damping, go to the Gas-adjust model.BTW don't order from Just Suspension, get your KYBs from Amazon or some other vendor. And no, it was not covered under warranty
