The kit replaces your vehicle's restrictive factory air filter and air intake housing. First of all, I bought this on Amazon. Best price anywhere on the web! It does everything K&N says it does. Installed myself. Not difficult. Within 1 full tank of gas I noticed an increase in fuel economy. I drive a 2004 Grand Cherokee V8. Increased gas mileage by 1.5 MPG and gave better throttle response. Do the math, lifetime air filter(never have to pay for new air filter) + increased gas mileage = more money in your pocket. Pays for itself in 6 months. Don't buy a cheap version. K&N is the best.

I had read that this would change how the engine sounded on my jeep, and when I first heard it, I was really suprised. It gives it a really deep sound when pushed hard. Installation was a little more difficult than expected, only because I had to remove the innner fender cover to access the bolts holding on the stock intake on my 2003 grand cherokee. The instructions were extremely easy to follow

I love Jeeps and Jeeps love K&N intake kits. I purchased my first K&N intake more than 9 years ago for my 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee a 4.0 litre V6. With my performance exhaust I loved the added power and sound. Now I have a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a 4.7 V8. I completely upgraded the exhaust from the precats back but I was lost. It still didn't have that growl that my V6 did. I installed this K&N intake and forget a growl that V8 roars. Take if from me, no matter what exhaust your Jeep has it can't roar if it can't breathe and it can't breathe if it doesn't get air. This K&N intake gave my Jeep the air it needed roar.
