It's no Fluke, but still a great little VM
By Andrew D. Flowers
It works, it's inexpensive, and it has many features the competition may not even offer (especially for the price). Bought it to replace a Fluke 73 I have that is beginning to fail (contacts on selector dial collapsed and Fluke cannot service economically).A bit thick but overall size isn't bad. Backlight on the screen is handy. Temperature probe is extremely low budget affair (at least one can expect to easily fix or replace with spare parts from your local electronic parts store if it breaks). Voltage testing leads are much better quality.Relatively stout little piece of equipment. Light as a feather, thin & hard protector case (how about something more shock absorbing like the Flukes?), and somewhat flimsy feeling knob actuation. But who cares? At a third or less of the price of many competitors, if it does break you can just buy another one with the $$$ you saved from not buying a more mainstream brand. Extech will even certify 'em if you need it done for a reasonable additional fee (listed in the brief instruction booklet). If you are looking for an inexpensive but capable VM, this could be the solution. All the desirable features and a crazy cheap price.

Great Meter
By John F. Kreno
Picked this meter up from Radioshack for $40. It was a steal. The meter is full of features.
