This is a 9-inch French CécileTM doll of "The Girls of Many Lands CollectionTM which includes a stand and the paperback book - "Cécile: Gates of Gold" by Mary Casanova. This doll was designed by Helen Kish and portrays a young girl , Cecile Revel, who is wearing an elegant gown that was made just for her with a silk underskirt that gleams with rows of golden embroidery, and silk satin gown fastens at the waist with a sparking brooch. She has low heeled mules or shoes that are fringed and embroidered to match her gown. She is wearing Madame"s own pearls around her neck and through her hair with an ostrich feather fan so that Cecile is ready to dance with royalty when the king's young great grandson asks her for a dance at the ball.
In the complicated whirl of court life, Cécile discovers that her heart and spirit are nobler than she knew. When the time comes, she is inspired to save a life and unravel the secrets of her own family. -- Please note that the "Girls of Many Lands" dolls were Not made with undergarments as they were mainly made for display.

This doll is beautiful and allows insight into her part of the world many many years ago. Her story is interesting and captivating. She is great for a teen collector. She is beautiful, and her dress is perfect!
