Functional Art

After being completely dissatisfied with the wobbly tabletop stand for my 55" Hitachi 55HDS69 plasma, I began looking for a wall mount. Having bought furniture made by Sanus Systems in the past and being 100% satisfied with it, I opted for this mount (in silver). Amazon had the best price by far. This mount is beautiful and extremely heavy duty. Mounting is straight forward and the adjustments are limitless. Moving the plasma (130lbs) is effortless with this mount. The silver model has a glossy finish to it that is impressive for a tv mount. I can push the plasma completely against the wall if desired - great for parties, etc. Although several screw sizes are included, I found the screws that Hitachi already included made the best fit. You WILL need someone to help you pick up the tv/mount assembly for final installation. Basically you bolt the plate to the wall, install the mount to the tv and hang the mount/tv on the bracket. This mount is very heavy (60+lbs) and super sturdy. My wife was even impressed. I will not hesitate to purchase another one if there is a need. I would definitely go with this larger Sanus mount if you have a TV larger than 50". There are lcoking brackets that can be tightened to hold the TV position static - or they can be left loose so the TV can be moved when needed. What more can I say, it's a TV mount that is beautifully constructed. There is an optional center channel speaker bracket you can buy for it also.

Good Design, Lower Quality Parts
By Randy C Treibel
The Design is great and exactly what i needed. It's got a very easy brainless setup but the LAG bolts were really cheap. I went and spent 3.86 on new lagbolts and asked amazon compensation! I broke 2 of the lag bolts just ratcheting them. They literally snapped off! I've never EVER had this with a lag bolt, ever. So that's my advice. If you buy this item spend about 3-4$ for higher quality lagbolts. Other than that it's a great item but because i got inferior quality bolts i can't give this item any higher than 3 star.

Heavy Duty - Easy to Install
By Sea Hoss
After much scrutiny, I chose this model mount for my Samsung A650 52" LCD TV. By Sanus's ratings, I could have selected the next model down (the VMAA26B), but I checked the mounts out in person and saw that this mount has two arms that hold this to the wall bracket, vs. only one arm on the VMAA26B. While I'm sure the next model down would also hold the set to the wall securely, this just gave me better peace of mind, and I didn't read about any leveling problems, as I had with the other mount.Installation: As I read in a previous review here, download the more detailed intructions from Sanus's website first - the instructions in the box are made for the clairvoyant. I read the (downloaded) instructions thoroughly. It was a breeze to install. I even had my 4 year old "helping" and it still was easy. Unlike the comments I had read previously, the hardware that came with the mount was just fine - it comes with 4 different sets of bolts made for attaching different kinds of TV's to the mount.Professional help is not required. Just make sure your bolts on the wall plate are going into the center of studs. I used a stud finder to locate the studs, then with a 1/16 drill bit, I drilled tiny test holes one inch to each side of where the stud finder said the center of the studs were located. I did this to confirm that the studs were indeed centered where the stud finder said they were. As it turns out, they were. Once the wall plate is mounted, you can install the hardware on the back of the set while it's still on its stand. Then simply lift (two people required for this move) and hang from the wall plate. Tighten the safety screws on the bottom and you're done! Without the "help" of my 4 year old, I probably could have mounted the set in less than 45 minutes.Extremely well made, easy to install, I would recommend to anyone.BTW - specifically to the Samsung A650 52" set, I used the included spacer hardware and got the TV mounted perfectly centered. You could mount with the flat option (no spacers) but the set would not be vertically centered on the mount. I recommend using the spacers.
