If you can afford it, go for the Crescent Moon Gold 9 snowshoes. These snowshoes are made of aluminum so they are very durable. The bindings have worked flawlessly. The Gold series comes with quick-release bindings, which make getting out them so easy and worth the extra money for this feature. Snowshoeing is harder than you originally think it would be, however, these particular snowshoes make it easier. The teardrop shape keeps them from klunking together while you are walking, allowing for a natural gait. Pair these up with the carry-bag and the overbooties and you will have everything you need for an enjoyable experience. I found that using treking poles helps tremendously as well.
