3Very firm dampers.
By B. Mitamura
I was told by mechanics and friends to buy KYB struts and shocks because of their great ride and handling balance. Well, the handling is outstanding but it comes at a price. The ride on my 97 Corolla is now very rough! On bad roads it rattles my bones and everything in the car. On bumps and dips, the firmness kills my back. But, on good roads, the ride is quite acceptable.I also own a Mazda 3 and thought that the ride is on the firm side. This was my only complaint about the Mazda. All the car magazines agree on the firmness of the Mazda 3 but I have to say that the Corolla puts the Mazda to shame. When I drive my Mazda now, I think I am in drivers heaven! The rides seems so smooth compared to the Corolla. On the plus side, the Corolla rides more safely on the concrete freeways that can be bouncy at times. There is no more floaty feeling on the freeway and it is much easier to go faster. The car is more connected to the road. If I had to buy struts again, I would think twice about purchasing the KYB's again. I would probably go with a less firm strut.

5Great struts to give your car new life
By L. Libraro
These struts are stiffer than original, but greatly improved handling on my 1993 Geo Prizm. Night and day difference, and when I had to slam on my brakes to avoid a driver drifting into my lane on the highway through a turn in the wet, good tires and suspension allowed me to recover, and probably saved my life. Glad I made the purchase, and will buy GR2's again in the future.

5Great shocks
By James F. Woodward
Put these on my daughters 2001 Corolla CE, You need to know what you are doing and have the correct tools to install these shocks!! If you have a spring compressor and know how to bleed brake lines you will be good to go (I had a AST Certified Mechanic helping me with access to the Toyota manual). The most challenging part was figuring out how to remove the back seat to get to the top on the shocks, the rest was straight forward removal and install. PS The shocks look nothing like the picture posted.
