This is a georgous sculpture! Yes, I say SCULPTURE, not plush or stuffed toy. They claim it is stuffed, but it is definately not my definition of cuddly. He is a magnificent (as they claim) model of an eagle and his eyes are quite unique. The stitching of the feather lines are wonderful. However, do NOT expect this St. Benard Dog sized model to be "plush". It is true the outside has normal plush materials but the head is styrofoam and the legs are galvanized metal rods as well as the wings. When they said it was "wired" I thought they meant plyable aluminum such as the trophy head dragon I have that has heavy wires in the winged flaps on it's head. This dragon I have you can easily twist and bend the metal and it is still a very wide and stiff metal so you can model the flaps as desired and not brake your hand trying to curve the metal. But, on this eagle piece the metal is much too stiff to bend. I'm over 30 and it's hard for me to move at all, never mind bend into sharp wing expressions. A child could never model the wings unless they took weight lifting or such. If it had 4 legs it could possibly be strong enough to ride on it's so stiff (dense metal). It's too wabbly to try that though. Its overall plushness factor is dulled because the head and beak is hard (being the foam) and the legs being metal and wing "arms" being metal. So DO NOT go buying this thing and expect to bring it home for you or your child to hug. It is just too hard. It can be petted to death and poked, possibly even tossed around the room or such if you have a warehouse size room. If you are a collector of things to touch and look at, this thing is superlitive. :) It's a great addition as a home-petting zoo starter kit. I'm somewhat dissapointed I cannot "squish" it though in a great big stuffedtoy hug, that you'd expect from the word "plush". :( That's why the lower rating in "fun". They include a booklet page about the eagle which helps the educational value and no one could possibly make a sturdier toy unless it was pure metal, fused and tempered! I hope if they do sell this toy (right now it's apparently out of stock) they should include a disclaimer about the ridgitiy of the entire toy, not just the wings. I hope you enjoy your purchase and I hope this commentary helps!
