5Bosch is best!!!! The best decision I made was using Bosch!!!!!!
By WellingtonColorado
The fuel gauge stopped working on my 1994 Dakota over a year ago and began using the trip odometer to track fuel. When I finally got some time I tracked the issue down to the sending unit so I purchased a new sending unit from the Dodge dealer, dropped the tank, installed the sending unit, gauge worked for only 2 tankfulls then quit again. I thought maybe it was an intermittent short in the wiring or the gauge itself so spent many hours checking & rechecking but everything pointed back to the sending unit again. This time I decided that if I was dropping the tank again I was going to also replace the fuel pump since the truck has almost 90K miles on it (yes, very low documented miles). So, I purchased this Bosch even though it was the most expensive as the reviews for the AirTex and other pumps were not all that good and I only wanted to do this one more time. THE BEST DECISION I MADE!!!! The gauge has been working for almost 2 months and is extremely accurate. While I had the tank dropped I did a little analysis of the sending unit I got from the Dodge dealer and it is, by far, a lot cheaper made product than the sending unit on the Bosch fuel pump. The float & float arm was extremely loose and the contacts were not tight which created a lose in signal. When I hooked up the Bosch I tried to get it to lose signal and it wouldn't as it was a tight sending unit in every aspect.Bosch may be more expensive but they do pay dividends in not having to redo prior work due to poor workmanship.

5Perfect fit
By T. Johnson
I was really impressed how it was better than the stock one on my Dakota. It was a challenge moving one part from the old one to the new, but I did it.I read two ways to get to the filter/fuel pump. 1) Drop the tank after emptying it. 2) Lifting the bed. After reading and watching some youtubes I decided to lift the bed. It was only 8 bolts and two electric plugs and it came off. My son and I lifted it off. Neither of us are big or strong, but we did it. I'd say anyone can do it. Once I got to the tank I had to loosen the holding ring. Since I didn't want sparks I used a hammer and a piece of wood. It came right off and the whole part lifted right off. While putting the new one in I turned it about 20 degrees counter clockwise since the fuel gauge didn't work correctly. Now everything is great. Even the fuel gauge works now.

5Works well
By Paul
Product so far works great. It fits my tank setup perfectly. The sending unit measures well on my 22 gallon gas tank. No issues with any thing so far.
