4Best 24' Monitor On The Market!
By Derrick Barra
The reviews for this monitor on the net are all pretty much accurate, but there are a couple of things that you should be aware of...---First The Bad Stuff---1) Yes there is the dreaded "input lag" that you've read about in the other reviews. However from my personal (using my eyes) tests the effect can be lowered by plugging in your mouse into the monitor, and I've only noticed this while using my desktop, never when playing games, movies, or console's. And over time your mind gets used to the small amount of leftover lag. However in the first couple of days your mind will want to physically not move the mouse. I know it sounds wierd but it's sort of a side effect that you'll notice for a couple of days (in my case it was about three).2) You see the pictures available of this monitor online? Well it does not go any lower than what you've seen on those pictures. This can be a problem for some people, but after my initial frustrations I remembered I could just press a button and my chair would get a bit taller. Problem solved!---Now For The Good---1) I do have legacy consoles that use 480p and I will be getting the Wii. And I have to say I am thoroughly impressed with how this thing scales these lower quality images. Before I was ticked about the quality, but then I tried it via my TV Tuner (PC) and the quality was about the same, but the quality is (of course) superior when going straight to the monitor than from the Tuner (Something my last edit of this review said oppositely). I had to screw around with the settings a bit and send the signal as a 4x3 or "full" depending on which system I was playing, but overall the quality was very good and playable, especially when you consider how many more pixels this things got than the normal CRT TV.2) But I don't have a Xbox 360, so I can't test that out via component, but from what people say about the other 24'ers, you should use the Xbox 360 adapter to display via VGA and it should be much much better than through component. (Oh yeah, and the monitor will only accept up to 1080i video for VGA capable (and maybe even DVI) video game systems as it's maximum.)3) This monitor has extremely great color and brightness after about 5 minutes of messing with the tuner program, and in my case I decided to stick with the default settings because they were already perfect in my opinion.4) Absolutely NO-GHOSTING (Woo-Hoo!).(Visibly at least, all LCD's have a teeny bit of ghosting when at 8ms or below, but it's only visible when you get above 12ms. As far as this monitor goes, I have not had any visible ghosting whatsoever.)5) 1080p Video's will blow you away. But to get the full effect you should upgrade your speakers to some good 5.1 speakers (I purchased the wireless logitech ones at the same time, and I couldn't be happier).6) This monitor takes over almost all of your periphial vision (your viewable eyespace), and the "WOW" affect lasts for at least three to four days.7) This is by far the very best 24' monitor on the market right now when it comes to features and actually friggin' working correctly without a hideous array of problems plauging it.8) My monitor came with absolutely no dead pixels and without any kind of blemishes. The box was also in pristine condition.9) And as icing on the cake, this monitor is HDCP compatible through the DVI port.So if your looking for a monitor for PC and all your video game consoles then you've found the right and only good solution out there for the 24' inch market as of writing.

5Excellent color, amazing picture on OSX
By Steven Allison Bunnell
I am running this monitor on an Apple PowerBook G4 using the DVI input. The picture quality, including text is incredible -- brighter and sharper than the PowerBook's built in screen. No dead pixels on the entire panel.I was particularly concerned about color accuracy, since I was replacing an Apple 17" Studio Display (CRT) that was calibrated for accurate color. I actually think that after calibration using the SuperCal utility, the color is better on this screen than the CRT. When I hold up my IT-8 target to this monitor, it is very, very good. This monitor is definitely worth the price if you're looking for quality.

5Would Purchase Again
By Steve Hollasch
[See also the Samsung 244T-Silver for more reviews of this monitor.]I like this monitor quite a bit, and would likely purchase it again if given the choice.Out of the box, I had two dead pixels, though one of them seems to have resolved itself. The other is noticeable if I am looking for it, but I cannot imagine a situation where I would catch it casually -- it's just not a big deal. This monitor is quite bright, and I rarely run it at 100% brightness, which would be painful under many conditions. For image, movie, photo or game viewing, it's very nice to have the extra gamut, however.I have yet to purchase color correction hardware, but the colors seem quite good for photos and such. I found the default color mode "Normal" to be too pink for my liking, and changed it to "Warm1", which seems more neutral. The monitor stand comes in two positions. The low setting puts the bottom and top edges at 6.5in and 19in, respectively. The high setting puts the edges at 9in and 21.5in. This seemed way too high to me at first, but since the high setting puts the monitor right near my eyeline, I set it there. At this point I have come to really like the high position, as the display is directly in front of me and better fills my peripheral vision.I agree with other reviews of this monitor that it is very good for its number of possible inputs, and with the criticism of the USB sockets on the middle left side of the bezel. My only complaint about this monitor is the low display resolution. While 1920 x 1200 may seem adequate, keep in mind that this is a 24-inch monitor. What you end up with is a resolution of 94.4dpi (dot pitch 0.269mm). It was pretty hard from me to go from my old (but dying) CRT's 130dpi to this. This especially shows up in font rendering of dark text on light backgrounds. At this point, however, I could not find a consumer-priced monitor at decent resolution, out of the 31 monitors I compared.Excepting the display resolution, this monitor excels in just about every other way compared to other LCD displays in this size and price-point. I highly recommend it.
