I purchased this head so that I could practice braiding on it as my three daughters (with hair trailing past their backsides) refuse to let me practice on them. I am not a cosmetology student at all and don't have any experience with hair on a model such as this. I did notice when I first received her, that her hair was course and not as soft and tangle-free as I'd like. I washed and conditioned with my high dollar products to soften it up a bit and make it more manageable. When I tried to flat iron it with a ceramic iron at 450 degrees, the hair just melted as if it were synthetic. I know that this heat setting is high, but I use this setting on my own '100% real human hair' all of the time with fabulous results (using the proper heat protectants). Like I said, I used the same products and heat protectants as I use to prepare her for practice, but hair still melted making me wonder if this head truly has a full head of 100% human hair or if it is a mixture of real and synthetic.I will not be returning her, however, as my primary purpose for purchasing her was to practice braiding (the basics, at that). For this purpose, this model is adequate (plus, I threw out the box and packaging that came with it).The hair does tangle easily, and my daughters' hair is much easier to work with so I figure that if I can master the braids on this hair, doing them on my kids will be even easier.......that's the theory, anyway.

I think the hair is great on the mannequin head. It is well placed and is very healthy looking. I haven't cut or colored on it yet. I'am taking it to a test so I can't do anything to it before I go. This has really nice hair and was packed nicely.

well let me start off by saying this head looks amazing in the picture. When I received my head it looked COMPLETELY different from the picture. The hair was shorter, the skin is white it looks like a drag queen. The hair though is very healthy feeling and looking, and its 100% human hair just to be more clear. You can curl it and straighten it and it looks awesome. The head itself is ugly looking but the hair is great! well I wouldn't buy from this person again but the head I got was pretty good :)
