Nothing quite like a pocket straight razor...
By DeusEx
Spyderco has long garnered a name as a quality knife maker. And most agree that they rank among the top ranked full production knife makers in the world. The endura line has proved to be a top seller due to their quality and (relatively) low price. And I must say WOW! I'd never seen a blade this sharp before...we're talking scary sharp! You could shave with it... Needless to say the paper test was a huge success! After six months of abuse this blade has lost it's razors edge but will still split paper with ease. I'll get around to sharpening it someday and have every faith that it will take and hold that edge well.As a defencive tool, you'll find more expensive models but none that do the job better. The large thumb hole makes opening a snap or perhaps I should say a "click." Opening techniques vary but the thumb hole gives the handler a feeling of security that thumb studs somehow lack. As for the handle, the ergonomics are phenominal! However, the smooth stainless finish might be a turn off for some. I like it, but it certainly won't be for everyone. One issue I've noticed is that the blade has developed a micro ammount of latteral play. I've put it thru quite litterally thousands of opening and closing cycles. Not to worry, Spyderco said send it in to them and they'll repair or replace it free of charge. I'm extremely satisfied with this knife, so much so that I'm buying a second.

Heavy duty thrusting, cutting tool
By Joel Ross
One of Spyderco's earlier models, it's strong, expecially in the steel handle which puts the balance point back to where your middle finger rests on the handle. Some prefer the checkered plastic handle which they usually offer in VG-10 steel while they try to unload the steel-handled models using the AUS series blade. Opt for the VG-10 whenever possible since its steel is far superior. Although its blade is only 1/4" shorter than the Police model, the Endura's blade is just as useful without the thinner point of the Police model. Additionally, 4" is often the cutoff point for law enforcement, using this length to divide a civilian's cutting tool from a criminal's weapon & thus the Endura may prove less likely to draw undue attention - but check nonetheless. I particularly like it because of its heft, thicker blade and versatile design but one man's tonic is another's poison. If you have a chance, compare the two & decide which feels more like it's part of your hand.

Endura 4
By Wordsend
Very well made knife. Solid with no visible flaws whatsoever. Large for a pocket folder, but that was exactly what I was looking for. Shaves right out of the box. What else can I say?
