5My Check Engine light is gone!
By unorian
I'm happy that my check engine light is gone. I'm hoping my gas mileage will improve too.I also bought an oxygen sensor socket which didn't work for me. If you have a sensorthat's really stuck..you need to cut the sensor's wires and use a regular deep socket to avoidstripping the o2 sensor. The engine must not be too hot..spray some PB blaster on the sensor. The sensor came off but it took the threads with it..no biggie, I'm prepared for that.I used a thread chaser to fix and clean the threads. Installed the new sensor andeverything is good :)

4O2 sensor on the cheap
By sharon A. tuccinardi
A Toyota dealer would charge you between $200-$300 to change this sensor, and the other 3 like it before the catalytic. But if you get a steady check engine, truck on down to Auto Zone where they will be more than happy to read you out the error code. The error code format is: Bank 1 Sensor 1, Bank 2 Sensor 1, etc. Bank 1 is driver's side of the exhaust. Bank 2 is passenser side of the exhaust. Sensor 1 - first sensor that side counting from where the exhaust manifold attaches to engine. Now you hop on the internet and correlate the error code with the Denso or Toyota part number. Then you order the part, in this case, $120+. There is a $100 variation in part prices, but this is 2010, you know what to do.

5No more check engine light
By Steven Goff
So far so good! Ordered this to fix my wife's 2001 Rav4 as it was getting a P1155 error code. Beware if you're a noob like me DO NOT buy the universal adapter as that only works on the downstream o2 sensors. I wasted about $40 on that part before I purchased this one. I'm a computer wiz and not a car guy but this was a pretty simple installation, you need a special o2 sensor socket which you can find on amazon for about $8 otherwise the job is pretty straight forward after a little internet research.
