If you're replacing a really old non functioning pump like I am and want to keep the vehicle running reliably as long as possible then you will be looking to buy a complete fuel pump assembly including the sending unit, bracket, and original connections like this one. If you only buy the pump you risk a failure of the sending unit and it can't be purchased as a separate item. Also, the Motorcraft unit, in this case, is designed to work accurately with the fuel gauge in the Ford car.
