    5Quality product. Perfect fit.

I bought this item because the ball joint on my 2003 Ranger was worn out. Since the ball joint itself is not serviceable, you have to buy and replace the entire control arm. This fit right in with no issues. Also I like that it has a grease fitting.I threw out the box...but I'm pretty sure this was made in the USA.

    5easy to install - 2002 mazda B3000 (Ford Ranger)
    By Teddo
I installed this on a 2002 Mazda B-3000 Truck (Ford Ranger Edge). I was a little concerned because my original control arm was two pieces (like the ACDelco 45D0090 Front Upper Control Arm Ball Joint Kit) and I was not sure if this was actually a replacement for the two piece arm or not. IT IS and the truck was aligned with no problems at all. The reason I replaced the whole arm instead of just the piece that has the ball joint on it is because the single arm also has new bushings where it attaches to the frame. May as well replace them too.I also installed the Raybestos camber/ castor kit (Raybestos 616-1011 Professional Grade Wheel Alignment Caster/Camber Bolt Kit) instead of the Moog one since it had more adjustment than the Moog kit does. If you do this you don't need to keep the original bolts or the cam that factory sets the alignment. Everybody says to install a camber/castor kit for better alignment.Installation was fairly easy - just watch You Tube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P4IPUUjKWBE - parts 1 and 2; part 1 is the lower ball joint, but includes how to remove the upper ball joint). The only difference between what the guy on You Tube says and what Moog says is that Moog says that you install the arm and leave the bolts that attach to the frame loose, then tighten them after the wheel is on the ground - this is much easier than the way the video suggests. It makes sense, the lower control arm really holds the weight of the truck - the upper control arm just follows it. Just read the directions that come with the new control arm.The ball joint comes with a zerk fitting so be sure to grease it until the boot swells a bit (NOT TOO MUCH)- it is NOT pre-lubed and ready to go. NLGI No.2 appears to be the what Ford would recommend IF their ball joints had grease fittings. Also be careful to put the correct control arm on the correct side - Right = the passenger side, Left = driver's side -- It has "L" or "R" stamped on the top of the arm --it is possible to install them on the wrong sides if you aren't careful.

5Well built part, easy to install
    By Alex W. Ackerman
My neighbor and I installed this on my 1998 Mercury Mountaineer. Removing the old UCA was pretty easy and installing the new one was even easier. The SUVs suspension feels much tighter and it doesn't feel like it's going to bounce all over the road.
