For my 00 Passat.

What a difference new struts make to daily driving. I finally replaced mine with 150K. I wish I had done it sooner :-(. Anyway, I first got a quote from Les Schwab, Midas and Sears. Both quoted $600-700 which includes the alignment. The quotes detailed this strut (Monroe 71304) at an average of $155/ea. The rest was labor and alignment. The quotes did not include replacing the strut mounts. When Iasked them, it would be an additional $80-125.So I decided to buy all the parts (2 struts + 2 strut mounts) here at Amazon. With my prime membership, all shipped free and I got 'em all in 2 days. My total cost was $180. I then went to my local, family owned shop to have them install it. They charged me $210 for labor + $65 for alignment. I saved almost 3-400$ :-)

shocks for coil-overs

We used the shocks for adjustable ride height with lowered springs on an application which is not Monroes application. Having done this a lot we are very satisfied with the results based on track results thatgenerated another 0.1 g of cornering with the same wheels/tires. Not having fixed spring seats is the key to permitting sleeved spring seats on the shock. Now we can set both rake and lean ride heights as well as ability to alter spring rates and shock rates though the latter 2 requires removal of the shock. All in all, an excellent means of customizing the suspension setup wtin minimum cost.
