99 GMC Jimmy AC Climate Control Unit

To whom it may concern, I checked the local GM Dealer for this unit. Special Order, Special Price (Way high - over $500.00) When I first encountered the problem with my Jimmy, I had no heat - South Dakota Winters make this an uncomfortable condition. - I took it to one of the repair shops I trust, and it was working when they got it into the shop. I asked about the cost to replace it any how, and was quoted the cost of the unit and labor to install it would be near the $1000.00 mark. Decided to leave it alone, since it was working. The next occourance was in the spring, wanted the AC to work and heat in the mornings. That's when I checked with the GM dealership for a price. I removed the controller from the dash panel, not a hard job, just a bit time consuming. I got a GM part number and did an internet search, and most of the common sources didn't carry the controller. I was surprised that Amazon had such an item, part numbers, description and the pictures matched, so I ordered it. Delivery was quick, ahead of schedule, 3 days from order to being at my door. Good Job, AMAZON.COM!! Easy installation. After installation, the AC works, the heater works, the defroster works, the Auto Temp Set point works and the Recirculation works. IT SURE IS NICE TO SET THE TEMPERATURE IN MY JIMMY AND ENJOY THE COOL VAPOR FREE AIR, AND FOR LESS THAN $300.00. I would recommend this item to any one with no AC, heat, or defrost.
